On 20th July 2020 Aadi Amavai festival is going to take place all over Sri Lanka by Hindu people. Specially at the Keerimalai pond around 150,000 - 200,000 people are expected to aprticipate in this religious event. On that day Maviddapuram Kandaswamy Temple "Threetham" too will take place. So it is not a good day to bath in the Kankesanthurai sea or in the Keerimalai natural water pond for fun. Lot of busses will run from Jaffna to Keerimalai in this date. Most of the people used to visit there to do their rituals in the early morning.
